Level 5 - The Mines 1. You start here. And you'll die here also if you don't get your arse moving, as that "pretty light" in the distance will toast that butt of yours if you hang around here too long! 2. The more agile player will make their way up the passage along here dodging fireballs as they go by making use of the alcoves to either side. Or, if you're fast enough, you can run to this point as soon as you start the level and get here before the fireballs do! Inside the hidden room here is a switch that will open up the area at point 14, allowing you to get three Artefacts of Life! Definitely worthwhile going for! 3. If you're not game enough to try playing with fire as in step 2 (or you've already completed step 2), then enter the mines at point 3 here. 4. Make your way through the dank mine passages to here, where you'll have to leap across the passage of fireballs with good timing. 5. The blood key here should be your next stopover. Just watch for some rather upset SS guys who'll come looking for you to object to your taking their key! 6. The blood key will allow you to access this area - hop into the Artefact of Displacement here, and you'll find yourself transported to the great outdoors at point 7. 7. Time to trudge through the snow to get the bronze key. Don't miss the hidden area to the right where you can obtain a rocket launcher. 8. The bronze key! 9. Hop into the Artefact of Displacement here to teleport back to point 6. 10. With the bronze key in your pocket, head to here where you can now gain access to where the gold key is stored. 11. The stairway to heaven (or should that be "more hell"?!!!) 12. Now, before you go exiting this level, maybe you should be curious as to what other things may be hidden along the passage of fireballs? If you race to this point here from point 4, then you'll find a clone guarding a wall switch ... throw this switch and a remote pushwall will block the fireballs from travelling up the passageway. 13. Not only will you find two crates of ammo as reward for throwing the switch, but you'll now have access to the secret pushwall at this point. Slide this back, and you've found your first "super secret" area! Proceed onwards oh daring warrior ... as reward you'll find a stealth rifle, 2 Artefacts of Life, a backpack of ammo, and some juicy treasure items (oh and some clones and SS too!) 14. Refer to step 2 to get the three Artefacts of Life located here. |
